New Year, New Art

TIDAL

A COLLECTION OF PAINTINGS FROM THE EDGE OF THE OCEAN
Coming Tuesday, February 6.
This new collection of original watercolor paintings was inspired by both aerial photos of the ocean and countless hours spent standing at the edge of the water, watching the waves ebb and flow with the tide.
Add to those already inspiring images in my head a new medium that I recently discovered; allowing me to add texture to my watercolor paintings, something I haven’t been able to do before. I’ve been sculpting waves onto cradled birch panels since the beginning of the new year, then carefully painting saltwater details onto the texture. The result is detailed yet abstract, balancing the magnitude of the ocean with the intimacy of the tide pools at the water’s edge.

I hope you enjoy collecting these paintings as much as I’ve enjoyed creating them. Available on February 6th.
